The first ever ECOSTARS scheme is celebrating today.
years ago, Clipper Logistics were the first company to sign up to the fledging
ECO Stars scheme, set up in partnership by Barnsley, Rotherham, Sheffield and
Doncaster Councils. Now, there are 11 different UK schemes, we've have expanded
into Europe as part of an EU project, and in the UK, we've got 300 members and
approaching 20,000 vehicles signed up.
Stars Manager Ann Beddoes is really proud of what ECO Stars has achieved, "What
started as a simple idea to help tackle air pollution has really taken off.
It's a testament to the willingness of the freight industry (not forgetting
buses, coaches and vans!) to reduce their impact on the environment that ECO
Stars has been embraced and endorsed by so many businesses.”
